UPDATE – you have now finished you first piece of controlled assesment

You will be studying the OCR B syllabus

This syllabus has two controlled assessments one is based on research the other fieldwork.  Both controlled assessments are completed in year 10.

It also has two exams one is a decision making piece where we recieve the resources it is based on several weeks before the  exam itself to help us prepare.  The other exam has 6 questions and you must answer 3 it is on the other 3 mosules not examined in the decision making exam.  These exams are taken in year 11.

Economic Systems and Development

Controlled assessment One: On the topic of energy or precious/semiprecious gems

Titles are:

1. What impacts does the demand for precious and semi-precious stones have upon LEDCs?

Possible headings to include

What are precious/semiprecious stones

Where are they found?

How are they extracted?

what are they used for

What social, economic and environmental impacts does their use have?

What stakeholders are involved and what are their opinions?

What can be done to reduce their impacts?

 2. How can UK families become more energy efficient in the future?

Why do families need to be more energy efficient?

In what ways can families be more energy efficient?

What are the advantages and disdavantages of being more energy efficient?

Who are the stakeholders involved and what are their opinions?
